Director: Brantley M. Dunaway
Scenic Designer: Jeffrey D. Kmiec
Lighting Designer: Jake Kvanbeck
Technical Director: Mark Gartzman
The concept for this production was rooted in the days of the Old South when the cotton farmers’ (old money) reign as the south’s main source for crops became threatened by the advent of the railroad and the steel mill owners (nouveau riche). The feud between the Capulets and the Montagues was born from this threat and continues throughout the play. The scenic designer wanted open steel framing on all of the set pieces covered with foliage in order to better illustrate the struggle between the old and new money families.

My main responsibility during this production was the construction of the double sided Montague unit along with the two caliper walls that rolled on and off stage in front of the proscenium arch.
